New York Holidays: Are any times of the year

For New York holidays, tourists can arrive any time of the year. This is the city that never sleeps so action and excitement is happening every minute of every day.

The most expensive time to visit New York City is over the New Year’s holiday. People from around the world gather in Times Square to watch the time ball drop at midnight. While this is a very memorable experience, most only do it once in their life time because of the cost and the crowds. Thanksgiving and Christmas are the next two most expensive times. This is because the staffs are short handed since no one wants to be at work on these holidays and the staff has to be paid double their normal wages to be there and work. This increase in cost is passed on to the customers.

The price at the hostels is about the only place where the increase is not too significant, but there still is an increase in price. For the lowest or cheapest time in the Big Apple, the summer months or times leading up to the holidays is the best time to find a deal.

If you decide to have a holiday in New York City during the colder winter months, be prepared to spend most of your time indoors. There are some low-cost attractions like the library and museums. One place that is always a hit is the Empire State Building, but the wind on top of that building during the winter months causes the wind chill to drop to the point that extended time on top is not recommended.

To make the most of any New York holidays, plan your trip during the fall or spring when the climate is pleasant and the prices are as low as they can be in the Big Apple.
